Oracle Defiant
by Liza Street and Keira Blackwood
Danger and passion collide, but love was unexpected.
My sister goes missing, and I bear the punishment of everyone’s concern. I’m trapped on my family’s compound until I accept a mate. But I refuse to listen. I’ll never obey. Instead, I’ll break rules, sneak out, and dance until sunrise.
Being with my guards is an act of rebellion—and an act of submission.
When dark forces strike, my visions could mean the difference between life and death. If only I could control them.
I’m Sparrow Solaris: the Oracle who cannot See.
Author Spot Light: Liza Street
Liza got her start in romance by sneak-reading her grandma’s paperbacks. Years later, she tried her own hand as a ghostwriter of romance. It wasn’t long before she started developing her own series. Now she’s a USA Today bestselling author and she spends her time writing about shifters with fierce hearts.
1. Please introduce yourself briefly in 3-5 sentences.
Hi! I live in California and spend my days writing paranormal romance and fantasy. I’ve loved reading and writing from a young age and will happily geek out over books with friends and strangers alike.
2. What book(s) sparked your desire to write?
There was never a particular book. I’m one of those weirdos who always knew I wanted to write stories.
3. How long have you been writing romance?
I’ve been writing romance since 2015, although the books I wrote before that (which are thankfully unpublished, never to see the light of day!) also have romantic themes.
4. What’s your favorite romance trope or theme?
I’m a sucker for second-chance romances, and I also love the one-night-stand that turns into true love forever.
5. What’s your favorite book you’ve written?
Oracle Defiant is one of my favorite books, because my author bestie, Keira Blackwood, and I wrote it together. I have many fun memories of the two of us chatting off to the side while we wrote our chapters. Sparrow’s character was an absolute blast–she’s so in touch with her sexuality, and I really enjoyed that about her. The story itself is super hot and suspenseful, which are qualities I love to read and write.
6. Tell us something random about you.
I have an incurable addiction to washi tape.
7. If you had one piece of advice for someone interested in writing, what would it be?
Don’t get bogged down with all of the advice out there. Different things work for different people. The first book is the hardest, and then you’ll slowly start learning what tactics and tools work best for you.
